This blog is a compilation of thoughts and ideas that I hope to remember on my journey through life.  The various quotes and statements within these pages are a compendium and personal interpretation stemming from experiences I have had, books I have read, emotions I have felt and advice I have heard.

I would feel foolish indeed if these writings are interpreted as an attempt to put on display that which I know, or taken as me pretending to have answers to all of life’s difficult questions.  In truth, it is actually the opposite that rings more true.

For as long as I can remember, I have conducted a daily pre-bedtime ritual of chronicling the day that was, and with notebook in hand, uncoiling the many thoughts in my head.  Much of this chronicling unfortunately is shaped around a review of the day’s mistakes, misguided emotions and general errors in cognition.  All three of which occur far more than I would like to admit.

Every now and again at this same time, I’ll come up with a useful thought or two, and perhaps even a morsel of wisdom to boot.  In essence, these are things "I've been doing some thinking" about which may help me better navigate life’s struggles and daily frustrations tomorrow than I have today.

I have always benefited from hearing and reading the viewpoints and insights of those around me.  So perhaps, in some small way, one of the following "Foote Notes" or essays will in turn do the same for another.

Respectfully,

William Foote
